Day 16, 12th November 2000.

As I said before, Savannah is beautiful.  Some more of the scenery first, and then the details of the obligatory alcohol session later....

We stopped and had lunch and a demon Bloody Mary, before heading off to the motel.  We then went back out, took some more pictures and stumbled across this.......

With a sign reading "Coldest, Cheapest Beer in Town" we had to avoid that one like the plague, however, not too far from there we saw this......

We then knew that we would be drinking there at some point.  However, it was British owned and therefore it was shut!  So, to kill a bit of time, we found the microbrewery, and despite finding cask-conditioned ale, we were not stuck by any of the beers.  We were determined that we'd leave after the next drink when a couple from Detroit came up and started talking to us.  They bought a drink, we bought one back, and we moved on to another pub and carried on for a bit.  Eventually they headed off (I think they were slightly worse for wear) and so we hit Churchill's.  The pub was okay, a bit too English, and so were a number of the customers.  We had a few drinks, Chris spoke with them at length about the joys and downsides of living away from Blighty.  Eventually we left, although I can't remember where we were going.

We stumbled across a bar that was up some stairs (so God knows how we found it).  Then everything went a bit foggy for me.  I remember talking to two Scottish bikers who had been on an 11 month roadtrip, and I vaguely remember eating crawfish and the picture below can confirm this.

Back to the trip diary.
